Agudah Praises Andrew Cuomo's "Outstanding Leadership Abilities"

Statement from Agudath Israel of America Upon the Passing of Governor Mario Cuomo

Agudath Israel of America notes with sadness the passing of Governor Mario Cuomo.

Throughout his tenure as Governor of the State of New York, Mario Cuomo displayed great friendship to the Jewish community, and played a leadership role in addressing many issues of Jewish concern.

Governor Cuomo enjoyed a close working relationship, and an especially warm personal relationship, with the late president of Agudath Israel, Rabbi Moshe Sherer. Rabbi Sherer befriended Mario Cuomo even before Mr. Cuomo was elected to public office, and the bonds of friendship grew only stronger with the passing years. Their relationship translated into a number of tangible benefits for the Orthodox Jewish community as a whole and for needy members of the community as individuals.

Governor Cuomo had the historic distinction of being the only high ranking American elected official ever to meet with Agudath Israel's Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah (Council of Torah Sages). His deep respect for the senior rabbis, and his willingness to engage them in dialogue on major issues of public policy, set him apart from his contemporaries in the political world.

Agudath Israel extends its deep sympathies and sincere condolences to the Cuomo family, including Governor Andrew Cuomo, who has clearly inherited many of his father's outstanding leadership abilities. May Mario Cuomo's exceptional human qualities continue to serve as a source of inspiration for the family, and for all who aspire to public service in the most noble sense of the term.

"Leadership ability" of twisting arms into passing the most evil legislation in NY history
Was there even a reason to mention Andrew in this piece?

PS: I agree that Andrew did "inherit" much from his father, like his unrelenting push for the evil of liberalism despite the obstacles like Mario did with abortion, and capital punishment.

Why's Aguda Posing For A Picture With A Senator Who Voted For Assisted Suicide

This picture was included in agudah's weekly press release from when NJ's assisted suicide bill passed the senate committee.

Bob Gordon Voted for the bill in committee Why would agudah pose for a picture with him in a press release on assisted suicide when he voted for the assisted suicide?
Furthermore this wasn't even their top alert but 3rd?????

This is agudahs press release (highlighted portions are additions)

As some members of the New Jersey legislature work to make the Garden State the sixth state to allow physician-assisted suicide for terminally-ill patients, Agudath Israel of America is at the "forefront" of "aggressively" fighting that devastating move. when money was at stake they sent bus loads of people down to Trenton, how many did they send for this?

The "Aid in Dying for the Terminally Ill Act" passed the State Assembly with 41 votes - the minimum needed agudah did not lobby this, they were to busy with the convention - last month, and is now up for a full vote on the Senate floor. In the event that it passes the Senate, the decision would fall on Governor Chris Christie whether to sign or veto the bill.

On Monday, Rabbi Avi Schnall, New Jersey Director of Agudath Israel of America as did the OU who in my personal opinion gave a stronger speech (should have all speeches up soon) and 2 other Orthodox Jews, expressed Torah Jewry's vehement opposition to the proposed law before the Senate Health Committee members. Rabbi Schnall told the Committee of Agudath Israel's long history of representing Torah observant Jews in America - and why this battle is particularly important: "Informed by classical Jewish tradition which teaches that all human life is sacred, and possessed of the firm view that laws that undermine the sanctity of human life send a message that is profoundly dangerous for all of society, Agudath Israel's interest in the issue of legalizing suicide is especially keen." does agudah feel the need to justify their involvement when dealing with other issues

In addition to articulating the religious and moral opposition to physician-assisted suicide, Agudath Israel's testimony laid out a clear legal case for the government to ban the practice, the legal case? the law already bans it and noted that even some who support the bill from the medical community oppose the idea of allowing physicians to participate in a patient's decision to end his or her life. if aguda was the only ones speaking that would make sense but many in medical community were there opposing the bill, in fact of all the people who testified 28 (including many in the medical field) spoke against the bill, and only 3 for it.

Agudath Israel is also engaged in an aggressive lobbying campaign among individual state legislators to encourage them to vote against the law. We urge the public to contact their local legislators as well and encourage them to vote against the bill. why don't they give people the phone numbers (click here to find your district and call your senator) also mention (and mean) that your voted depend on it or they will not care about your opinion because the left is also lobbying and the senators know they mean business

Rabbi Schnall says that, per the directive of the organization's Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of America (Council of Torah Sages), the law presents a threat beyond its immediate repercussions. "If it becomes law, the assisted suicide bill can directly imperil even Orthodox Jews who would not willingly choose death, Heaven forbid," says Rabbi Schnall. "There is a very real concern of a slippery slope, where doctors, hospitals and insurers can pressure patients diagnosed with a terminal illness, people suffering from mental illness, and individuals with disabilities to make the wrong choice."
(Agudas press release) highlights our additions

It seems to us that their main objective is to tout agudah not fight the bill.

David Greenfield Defends Pedophiles

OJ political club is Greenfield's political club

On election Day David Greenfield was seen by multiple witnesses campaigning for Steven Cymbrowitz (click to read some of Cymbrowitz's terrible record) at the Sephardic Community Center on the morning of election day.  As far as we can tell the vote Greenfield's referring to is one of the votes mentioned in this flyer below.  The reason being is that this was the flyer being distributed at that the Sephardic Community Center that morning where Greenfield was spotted.

front of the flyer

Back of the flyer
Cymbrowitz voted to kill these 2 bills in committee along with all the other democrat assemblymembers, seemingly because a republican sponsored these important bills and Shelly Silver usually doesn't allow any bills sponsored by a Republican to be voted on even if they can save someone's life.

One of these bills (A5991) would be get rid of the statue of limitations for a molester in civil and criminal court.  This bill as opposed to the (Markey) bill that Agudah publicly protested would clearly only deal with the perpetrators themselves, and not the institutions that covered up for the molesters.

This bill was held for consideration, not because there was something wrong with the bill, but in order to kill the bill in a way to save face. This was all a political ruse in order to claim they never officially voted "against" this bill, hoping people would be stupid.

The other bill (A6158) would make a molester serve more time behind bars extending the punishment for certain molesters from (10-25 years) to (25 years-life), it also would further protect our children by placing the molester under a lifetime supervision by the parole board if they ever get out from jail.

This bill was also held for consideration, not because there was something wrong with the bill, but in order to kill the bill in a way to save face. This was all a political ruse in order to claim they never officially voted "against" this bill, hoping people would be stupid.

1. Does David Greenfield also oppose these 2 laws to protect our children from pedophiles?

2. Does Agudas Yisroel also oppose these 2 bills even though their official reasoning for opposing the Markey Bill does not apply?

3. Since David Greenfield's political club cares so much about "Daas Torah", how come they have no complaints against David Greenfield for made fun of rabbis for endorsing Erick Salgado?

Call up David Greenfield's office (718)-853-2704 ask him to clarify his and agudas support for pedophiles!

Agudas Yisroel Makes Fundraiser for Same Sex "Marriage" Orchestrator

NYGov – Cuomo Meets Agudath Israel Board Ahead Of Jewish Fundraiser in Flatbush

Governor Andrew Cuomo was back in Brooklyn on Monday trying to secure a super majority in his reelection bid, by courting the "Orthodox" Jewish community’s support at the early stages of the general election.

The governor attended a fundraiser Monday evening at the home of Sol Werdiger, chairman of Agudath Israel of America’s board of trustees, in Flatbush.

Prior to the fundraiser, Cuomo met with members of Agudath Israel’s board and community leaders, two sources told JP. During the meeting, the governor pledged to do a greater effort to pass the Education Tax Investment Credit in next year’s session, one source said. “He was very positive and promising.”

The Education Tax credit bill introduced the NY Senate during the 2013 legislative session. But it was not included in this year’s budget deal and did not reach the floor at the end of the legislative session, despite fierce lobbying on the issue by Jewish and Catholic advocacy groups.

“The Cuomo Administration has a strong legislative record in support of the Jewish slight correction for accuracy cross out Jewish and replace it with LGBT-community, including policies supported by "Orthodox" Jewish organizations and leaders like sane sex "marriage", casinos near our summer camps etc.,” Elbert Garcia, a spokesperson for Gov. Cuomo, told JP at the time. “Although some proposals we support did not pass the Legislature this session (such as the Education Investment Tax Credit the bathroom bill otherwise know as Genda, a bill to ban therapy that would help overcome homosexual desires a practice that was endorsed by approximately 200 rabbis), we remain committed to these policies and to working with leaders and community members to move these issues forward.”

Republican gubernatorial hopeful Rob Astorino, during his acceptance speech at the GOP convention in May, promised to pass the Education investment Tax Credit if elected as governor. “To those who have been waiting for an Education Investment Tax Credit in this state… I want you to know that when I make a promise to you, I’ll keep it. We will have an Education Investment Tax Credit in 2015,” he proclaimed.

Why Shmuel Lefkowitz Endorsed Steven Cymbrowitz Over A Orthodox Jew Who Would Have Sponsored A Bill To Repeal Same Sex "Marriage"

לא תביא אתנן זונה ומחיר כלב בית ה' קלהיך לכל נדר, כי תועבת ה' קלהיך גם שניהם
You shall not bring a prostitute's fee or the price of a dog, to the House of the Lord, your God, for any vow, because both of them are an abomination to the Lord, your God

As We know Agudas Yisroel's chief lobbyist endorsed Steven Cymbrowitz (who for the most part has a pro homosexuality record) over Ben Akselrod who promised to sponsor a bill to repeal same sex "marriage"

(L-R) Leon Goldenberg, Steven Cymbrowitz, Shmuel Lefkowitz

Unfortunately Lefkowitz and others like him (Goldenberg, Sam Sutton etc.) (more in a future post) led Ben Akselrod to lose the Orthodox Vote and thus the election.

Of course Shmuel Lefkowitz wouldn't care about the fact that Cymbrowitz has a pro gay record and Ben Akselrod would have fought it because he didn't even try to fight the "marriage" bill in the first place.

In an article that apeared 10 days before the "marriage" bill passed, and much of the Jewish community was very worried that this would pass Shmuel Lefkowitz admitted he was not fighting the "marriage" bill

Factions of New York’s Orthodox Jewry have also been monitoring the legislative jostling closely. On May 23, six organizations issued a joint position statement exhorting lawmakers to uphold traditional marriage. Among the signatories was Agudath Israel of America, an umbrella organization for ultra-Orthodox groups, both Hasidic and non-Hasidic, who share a “singular belief in the Torah as the primary source of their religious values,” according to "Rabbi" Shmuel Lefkowitz, its chief officer for governmental affairs.
“On the issue of legalizing same-sex "marriage",” the statement reads,
“the Orthodox Jewish world speaks with one voice, loud and clear: We oppose the redefinition of the bedrock relationship of the human family. The Torah, which forbids homosexual activity, sanctions only the union of a man and a woman in matrimony.”
Lefkowitz believes that same-sex "marriage" lacks the requisite momentum for passage. “If I believed the votes were there, I’d put more effort into it,” he says. “I believe this is under control.”

Shmuel Lefkowitz "Thinks" Teaching Kids "Healthy Attitudes" Towards Homosexuality Is A Jewish Value!

In Yeshiva World's endorsement for Flatbush Assemblyman Steven Cymbrowitz (district 45), Shmuel Lefkowitz showed his lack of understanding of Jewish values
Frum Leaders Write: ‘Why We Need You to Vote for Assemblyman Steven Cymbrowitz for Re-election’ - See more at: http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/headlines-breaking-stories/257129/frum-leaders-write-why-we-need-you-to-vote-for-assemblyman-steven-cymbrowitz-for-re-election.html#sthash.ewuT0K7d.dpuf

Shmuel Lefkowitz of Agudath Israel knows that he can always count on the Assemblyman to look out for our best interests. “Steven is a true advocate for our community. His priorities are shaped by the community he represents and his voting record reflects the community’s values,” said Lefkowitz.
(YWN)

So let's look at some of his votes that Lefkowitz thinks are Jewish vaules

1. He voted multiple times for a grant program to teach kids about "healthy attitudes" towards homosexuality
S 1451. ESTABLISHMENT OF AGE-APPROPRIATE SEX EDUCATION GRANT  PROGRAM;

2. THE COMPONENTS OF INSTRUCTION SHALL INCLUDE WHETHER SUCH INSTRUCTION:

(N) DEVELOPS HEALTHY ATTITUDES AND VALUES CONCERNING GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT, BODY IMAGE, GENDER ROLES, SEXUAL ORIENTATION AND OTHER SUBJECTS
2. He voted multiple times to teach kindergarteners tolerance and respect towards gays which in practice has since led to a school having girls ask other girls to kiss each other.

Instruction in civility, citizenship and character education. The  regents  shall  ensure  that  the  course  of instruction in grades kindergarten through twelve includes a component on  civility,  citizenship  and character education. Such component shall instruct students on the principles of honesty, tolerance, personal  responsibility,  respect for  others,  observance  of laws and rules, courtesy, dignity and other traits which will enhance the  quality  of  their  experiences  in,  and contributions  to,  the  community.  The  regents shall determine how to incorporate such component in existing curricula  and  the  commissioner shall  promulgate any regulations needed to carry out such determination of the regents.  FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION, "TOLERANCE," "RESPECT FOR OTHERS" AND "DIGNITY" SHALL INCLUDE  AWARENESS  AND  SENSITIVITY  TO DISCRIMINATION  OR HARASSMENT AND CIVILITY IN THE RELATIONS OF PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT RACES, WEIGHTS, NATIONAL ORIGINS,  ETHNIC  GROUPS,  RELIGIONS, RELIGIOUS  PRACTICES, MENTAL OR PHYSICAL ABILITIES, SEXUAL ORIENTATIONS, GENDERS, AND SEXES.

3. He voted to allow gay "couples" to adopt children (read the memo for this bill to see that gay couples were the intent)

4. He voted to ban therapy to help a minor overcome unwanted homosexual desires a practice that was supported by almost 200 rabbanim

also in the beginning of this bill is states
Section 1. Legislative findings and intent. The Legislature hereby finds and declares all of the following:
 a. Being lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender is not a disease, disorder, illness, deficiency, or shortcoming. The major professional associations of mental health practitioners and researchers in the United States have recognized this fact for nearly 40 years.

5. he voted to extend same sex "marriage" to estates, powers and trusts law. (which in essence is a defacto vote for same sex "marriage")

6. He voted specifically to give a tax exemption to a gay organization

7. He voted in favor to the constitutional amendment to allow casinos that many rabbanim urged everyone to vote against after it passed and it when before the state for a vote last year.

8. He voted for Coumo's Abortion Bill (otherwise known as the women's "equality" act)

9. He voted for Sonda the sexual orientation non discrimination act (add gays to the states non discrimination act which allows religious people to get sued for not renting a hall out for a same "sex "wedding"

10.He voted to force insurance companies to provide service for domestic partners (which is basically a civil union originally specifically designed for gays)

since 10 is a nice round number I'll stop here.

He also has a few terrible votes that were done in committee (allowing 21 year old to be tried as a child, stalling a bill that would have convicted molesters government supervision after they get out of jail etc.), or by hostile amendment (tax payer funded abortions) that I would add but since there is no internet record (I have the proof of these votes in case anyone wants them) I'll "excuse" Lefkowitz for not knowing about them.

Vote for this coming Tuesday for Ben Akselrod who has promised publicly he will sponsor a bill to repeal same sex "marriage", and will vote against all anti Torah bills!

Knesset Passes First Vote On Homosexual "Couple" Tax Law:Satmar/Aguda Still Protesting The Draft

The Knesset plenum approved in a 44-20 vote on Wednesday a preliminary bill offering tax breaks for same-sex "parents".
A compromise between Yesh Atid and Habayit Hayehudi parties paved the way for the bill's passage. The written deal between the two coalition partners has been kept under wraps but it is expected the bill will be shelved and that equal tax credits will be implemented through Finance Ministry regulations rather than legislation.

Storming out of the building, members of left-wing opposition party Meretz refused to participate in the vote and demanded to make public the Yesh Atid-Habayit Hayehudi agreement. They were joined in criticizing the secret dealings by MK Eitan Cabel (Labor). He voted against the bill in order to be allowed address the plenum and speak out against the lack of transparency.
Religious Services Minister Naftali Bennett was the only representative of Habayit Hayehudi present to vote in favor of the law. MK Ayelet Shaked notified the Knesset that she was unable to reach the plenum in time for the vote and asked that her name be added to the bill’s supporters.
The faction chairs of the two parties, Ofer Shelah for Yesh Atid and Ayelet Shaked for Habayit Hayehudi, led the attempts to reach a compromise in recent weeks. On Tuesday, they reached a final agreement at the forum of faction chairmen of the coalition parties. In addition, the forum resolved to convene for regular weekly sessions in order to reach agreements on disputed bills before they are submitted for Knesset votes.
The compromise should allow both parties to demonstrate an achievement.
Yesh Atid can say gay "parents" have been included the tax law, and in addition claim a "moral" triumph with the passing of the bill on Wednesday that for the first time recognizes same-sex "couples", even if this step does not result in legislation in the end.
A senior party member said Tuesday that “Habayit Hayehudi cannot threaten to veto a law after the government has decided to support it. We broke that principle through this compromise. The bill will be voted on exactly the way the government approved it, and Habayit Hayehudi won’t prevent that."
In parallel, Habayit Hayehudi should be able to boast of derailing legislation that recognizes same-sex "couples".
Sources close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu clarified last week that he supports the law in the version introduced by MK Adi Kol (Yesh Atid), which is the one passed Wednesday.
With sources from the two sides giving contradictory information, and no document publically available, the exact nature of the agreement between Yesh Atid and Habayit Hayehudi remains unclear.
Habayit Hayehudi said the regulations Finance Minister Yair Lapid would set will be subject to approval by the Finance Committee, which is headed by their representative, MK Nissan Slomiansky. Yesh Atid, by contrast, said that no such agreement had been reached and that the authority to formulate the regulations would be entirely in the hands of party chairman Yair Lapid. The regulations are expected to include the phrase “partners of the same sex.”
Yesh Atid, however, was hesitated to play up the importance of the deal.
“This bill wasn’t "supposed" to become the flagship of gay-"couple" recognition, but to ease the distress of a few dozen couples discriminated against by the state." A source in Yesh Atid said Tuesday. "We conduct "major battles "on major issues. Yesh Atid is advancing the "civil union" law that would recognize gay couples for the first time, and we’ll be bringing that through the front gate, not the back door."
Kol’s bill was approved three weeks ago by the ministerial Committee for Legislation, but since then was not brought to the Knesset for a vote due to the conflict between Yesh Atid and Habayit Hayehudi. Members of Habayit Hayehudi, particularly MK Shaked, were subjected in recent weeks to pressure and public criticism, especially on Facebook, after trying to thwart the law and threatening to veto it. Lapid harshly attacked the intention to veto the law and clarified that it provides social assistance to children and is not concerned with issues of religion and state.

“I’ll take this to the government,” Lapid told Army Radio. “I’ll ask them to explain what it has to do with religion and state, because if this is religion and state then we can veto any issue in the world because of religion and state. I don’t see how someone can raise their hand and say, ‘I support children getting punished because their "parents" are gay.'"
Under the current law, in the case of married couples, each child under the age of 18 garners only the woman one tax credit point. This means that two men raising children together are not eligible for the tax break. The value of a full credit point in 2013 was 2,616 shekels over the year.
(haaretz)

However, Meretz party MKs stormed out of the hall before the vote in protest against confusion over exactly what deal was struck between the Yesh Atid and Jewish Home parties over the future of the bill, and in particular, whether any references to “same-sex” were to be removed.

Coalition partners Yesh Atid and Jewish Home agreed on Tuesday to bring the bill to the Knesset for a preliminary reading although the two parties gave different versions of just what it was that they agreed on.

The national-religious Jewish Home party, which strongly opposed the law at first because it correctly saw the references to gay "couples" as a step toward legalizing civil "marriage" in Israel, claimed that after passing the preliminary reading the law was to be changed. The updated version, from which of all mention of same-sex "couples" was to be expunged, would instead only empower the interior minister to apply regulations giving gay "couples" tax benefits equal to those of heterosexual couples. and is still a step towards Toevah "marriage" and worse.

By contrast, Yesh Atid asserted that the law would continue as originally intended.

“This law will not go away and it will be promoted in the standard process of passing laws,” Lapid said. “Because it comes from the "sacred" principle that says every person has a right to live in sin.”

Nonetheless, Lapid appeared to be evasive when challenged by opposition MKs to give his assurances that the law would be advanced in its current format and responded only that it would necessarily be reworked in the coalition committee, over which he does not have control.

During the vote, the only Jewish Home MKs to give their approval were party leader Economy and Trade Minister Naftali Bennett and MK Ayelet Shaked who's not Orthodox. Other Jewish Home MKs abstained in protest against Lapid not mentioning the proposed future changes in the wording and scope of the law. Or they're against the whole thing altogether

The legislation aims to alter current Israeli law, which grants higher tax breaks for mothers than for fathers and thus puts male gay "couples" at a "disadvantage" and changing it is promoting homosexuality. The benefits for each child can reach over NIS 2,600 ($740) a year.
(timesofisrael) highlights ours

Meanwhile the "charadiem" are doing nothing, If every Single Orthodox Jew In Israel and America would have fought this Habayit Hayehudi might have fought stronger, and we possibly could have gotten Likud To fight it also

But of course the draft is more important

Moshe Indig at yesterday's Aroni Protest of the draft (a toevah supporter both in America and apparently EY)
For the draft the Aroniem staged another protestZlamin Attacks Aguda, and the Moetzes of Agudas Yisrael (from EY) is staging an insane protest in NY, but not as single person protested the Mishkav Zachar Bill who's fight was going on for that past month which is infinitely more important.  Maybe if the "Charadim" would have fought it Bayit Yehudi would even have vetoed it.

Agudas Yisroel's Statement ?Against? Yesterday's Court Ruling

Agudah becomes Poets to commemorate yesterdays court decision

“Society’s mores may shift and crumble but eternal verities exist. One is marriage, the union of a man and a woman. Its sanctity may have been grievously insulted by the High Court today, but that sanctity remains untouched.” – Agudath Israel of America

Jewish Politicos Bring The Pro Toevah Jerry Nadler To A Cheder (Yeshiva) To "Teach" Our Children

The Jewish "political figures" in this video that brought the pro Toevah Jerry Nadler to the cheder are.

1. Ezra Friedlander: the son of the Liska Rebbe and CEO of the Friedlander group which helps run event for many Jewish organizations including Agudas Yisroel's legislative breakfast.
2. Yidel Perlstein : Borough Park and part of Flatbush's community board chairman. (1st Chasidic chairman of a community board in New York City). Yidel got his position with the strong support of Borough Park and Flatbush City Councilman David Greenfield.
3. Pinny Ringel : the Community Affairs Associate for the NY Public Advocate Bill deBlasio the strongly pro Toevah NYC mayoral candidate.
4. Moshe Friedman: executive director for Nachman Kaller's Community First and hosted the radio show "Let's Talk Tachlis".
(if anyone knows any other political figures or the name the name of the Yeshiva in the video please comment)

All the kids seemed to be genuinely impressed upon seeing Nadler.  None seemed to have the impression that much of congress or Obama stand for all the Jewish Community hates.

Jerry Nadler is known as the biggest pro Toevah (homosexuality) congressman in Washington.  He is the leading sponsor of more homosexuality bills in congress, than any other congressman, including the bill to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (which will force all states that are still against Homo "marriages" (like New Jersey) to accept homo "marriage" from states that allow it (like New York)).
